Update: Patrick Wolf, Living Things, Plastiscines, Jaguar Love

Less than two months have passed since Patrick Wolf last played in New York and this time he brought a whole tour with him. Headlining the Nylon Summer Music Tour, Patrick played alongside the discordant Jaguar Love, the fierce, French, all-female Plastiscines, and the bland Living Things. Occasionally angered into withering curse-outs (very surreal) by ungracious audience members or incompetent sound techs, Patrick was mostly all smiles and his usual charming self.

Update: Girl in a Coma and Miss Derringer

Last Friday, I got to cover the last of the Summerwood 2009 shows featuring Miss Derringer and Girl in a Coma for Popnography. Fun was had and I was home at a reasonable hour (always a plus!). The venue was only half full, but the show was energetic and the lights, fantastic.

Sunday night, I got to finally experience my first good arena shoot. Nine Inch Nails, the reunited Jane’s Addiction and Street Sweeper Social Club (featuring Boots Riley and Tom Morello)put on a great and lively show.

Update: IAMX, Hypernova and Cruel Black Dove

Thursday I saw IAMX play with Cruel Black Dove and Hypernova at Bowery Ballroom. Before doors, the line to get in was down the block, a rare occurrence for the small venue. I never pegged IAMX as that popular, but shows what I know. The crowd was very enthusiastic and Chris Corner was obviously happy to be there.

To bad the lights were terrible and Chris does not like photo ops…
